Anyone been reading about Meta's new platform very similar to Twitter? What do you think?
Could be interesting seeing Musk and Zuckerberg square up to each other, although in the courts, not in a cage fight.
Can't really see myself using the new app. For a start I don't want to sign up for Instagram, which is required to use it.
Like Laura said, I think Threads is missing a few fundamental features. It doesn’t really have a functional search, it’s doesn’t have a ‘following’ timeline and it’s very hard to see posts from people you follow. For me this is a deal breaker. On my personal Twitter account I have a very tailored timeline, following only the journalists, politicians and news outlets I want to see. It means I can keep up with the news and follow developing stories instantly. I can’t do any of that with Threads.
How’s everyone else getting on with it so far?
Seems like Mu$k is already feeling threatened by Threads.

We've just started an account on Threads for ASW. It's a nice clean look and everything is very 'fresh' right now including its users. But it needs a little work to rival Twitter's features.
No ability to search for topics, no hashtags, and the timeline is completely random. I seem to be seeing mostly celebrity threads with little control to see what is relevant to us.
So, could be a good alternative with a bit of work and extra features, but still prefer our forum (not biased at all 🤔😊).
