Has anyone been to any Comic-Con(s) or similar events? If so, how did you navigate it all and what to expect? Is disability access as it reads on the tin, any common issues etc.?
Not happening this year, but will almost certainly be on the cards in the future (preteen gamer son).
Asking for me and J as neither of us have a clue... may help others too 🤔
I regularly go. I like to cosplay, as then I'm not going as ME. I can then handle my social anxiety a little better, and often actually hide behind a REAL mask. Cons can be quite busy, and as with anything with lots of people crammed into a space, can be very triggering. I do go with my son, who is similar. We plan ahead, and go a little later in the day to avoid main queues and rush. The good thing is, cons attract like-minded people, so many con goers and traders are fully aware of people who aren't 'Normies'.
I went to a Star Trek con a few years ago at the NEC. Went with my daughter, who at the time hadn't developed her anxiety. The crowds there were huge, but it was fun seeing all the actors from the various series. They'd changed a lot :)
