What type of music does everyone like? My main genre of interest is rock and heavy metal, but I also have a taste for a wide range of other genres. No rap music though. Been to several concerts in my lifetime and first concert was the Gary Moore After the War tour way back in 1989. I've also seen War of The Worlds performed live with Jeff Wayne conducting the orchestra and Liam Neeson as the narrator. One of my all time favourite gigs was when I got to Jean Michel-Jarre perform live in Cardiff.

Just listening to a bit of Metallica. Never got into them in my youth, but I've now got 'Enter Sandman' with its chugging guitar riff and heavy bass line thundering away. Rock on!
What a tune. The perfect song for such a powerful ending (Breaking Bad)...

My musical tastes are quite eclectic, I don't really have a favourite band, and going to live gigs has always been a bloody nightmare for me (although I'm going to see Sleeper in October, by myself, which will be a test, but it's a small intimate affair, so hopefully won't be too overwhelming!). I like what some would call goth music, but I also enjoy 90s rock (grunge, indie, alternate - Foo Fighters, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins), film scores, britpop (Blur); 90s music in general really.. More than happy to share my Spotify playlists, try these for finding some different music, or getting to know me.

Reliving my youth this morning and listening to Roger Waters Radio K.A.O.S.
The War on Drugs
The War on Drugs are so underrated. They are mine and Jon's favourite band, right up there with Rush. They are absolutely stunning.
Jon has seen them live before, I haven't yet. We've only just realised that they have just finished touring here (absolutely gutted we missed them). They are definitely top of the 'bands to see' list for me.
If you haven't heard of them, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Here is a link for their Glastonbury set last weekend:

Perfect to start the day...🎶
Have a good one ☺️
I like music from 80's and 90's, Michael Jackson and London Boys too.
But I got liking Luke Bryan after hearing of him last year even though he has been going longer than that.
And I recently listened to Halestorm for the first time via YouTube after hearing about them.
I also like Evanscence.
My taste in music is very eclectic. In my youth I liked heavy metal bands such as Black Sabbath. And a lot of their songs are quite progressive, not just bog standard rock songs. I also got into the music of Rush and Yes, which really were prog rock bands. Such talented musicians.
On the other end of the spectrum, I enjoy listening to classical stuff, but I much prefer playing, to listening.
When I was married I took my stepson to his first ever gig to see Iron Maiden and he was hooked on live gigs from that point onwards. Took him to see Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, HIM, Kings of Leon and Iron Maiden again after that.
Hi Mike,
The War of the Worlds sounds amazing - was that Liam Neeson as in the actor?
Some great choices there. We love all sorts. I‘m a big Rush fan, but I also like a lot of indie music and folk rock. Some of my favourite bands / artists (aside from Rush) are Okkervil River, Jared and The Mill, Frightened Rabbit, Malcolm Middleton, Teleman, Jason Molina…and so on..
..so quite a diverse mix really. ☺️
So sorry Mike, this post got lost in a ‘pending’ inbox. Seems like the auto moderation got a bit carried away.
Rock, metal and indie here. 70’s to current day. Me and L went to see Feeder a few years back. One of the best gigs we’ve ever been to.
War of the Worlds sounds cool. Especially with Liam Neeson narrating!
