That sounds great Andrew. Bristol is a great city, we went there a few years back to see a band (Feeder) and loved it. We don't often get to see any sort of live shows but when the conditions are right we really enjoy it. Sounds promising about the house move. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi Andrew, I must admit I don't know much about tennis and your post was my first reminder that Wimbledon had started again. The year really is flying by fast! Do you play tennis at all yourself?

Thank you for sharing Liz, and yes, agree with you about Twitter. We have used it a lot in the past, but it has become a really unhealthy place for us. We much prefer communicating with a smaller group of people at a much slower pace. There is no space for real conversations or discussions on Twitter.

Shaun of the Dead is a great film, not seen it in a long time though! You have just reminded me of 'The Thing'. Need to rewatch that!

It's definitely great to have a few favourites on DVD to rewatch. I used to have Apollo 13 on VHS and pretty much wore out the tape! I have never seen any of the CSI series. Would you recommend?

Thanks Andrew, I thought I would try the new layout as it was getting a bit confusing. Also, we have noticed a bit of lag with loading times and I think the large images on the old layout was contributing to that. Hmm... not sure why you can't access the mods section. I have just checked and you are still on the access list. I will try to figure it out. J

These are really good points. Especially so about how it can sometimes be difficult to read the emotion in someone's conversation. I often worry that I will come across as blunt or patronising when I talk online. Emoji's can definitely help. The ability to take time with your replies too is so important. That's what we hope to achieve with this forum. It's nice to be able to just pop on when we are ready to talk rather than worrying about missing out on a fast-paced conversation.

Same! Will get a new category set up. Out of curiosity... what platform/service do you use to keep up to date with news stories? Especially fast moving stories like the situation in Russia.

Thank you for starting this discussion Andrew and for sharing your experience. We so often hear about how difficult mainstream schooling is for those with ASD, especially girls. Historically, it seems that extra support in schools was non-existent, and maybe it's not much better today? It sounds like you and your wife have created an excellent home schooling system for your daughters though. It will be interesting to hear about the experiences of others too.

Ha, my brother ended up with the last trumpet in the cupboard. My mum was not impressed. He didn't stick to it though... I have played the bass a few times. I got smallish hands though so find it difficult. A Another great background instrument though!
